This policy explains what personal information Mocky collects, why, and how it's used. Mocky is used by parents to create student profiles and generate AI-powered mock tests for Melbourne selective-entry and scholarship exam preparation.
From the parent account:
For each student profile you create:
From test activity:
We do not collect date of birth, home address, or any government-issued identification number.
We use this information solely to operate the product: authenticating your account, managing student profiles, generating mock tests suited to a student's year level and subject, and scoring completed tests.
Mocky uses Google's Gemini API to generate test questions and to score Written Expression responses. When a student submits a written response, the text of that response — along with the question prompt and marking guidance — is sent to Gemini for AI-based scoring and feedback. Test configuration (exam organisation, subject, year level) is also sent to Gemini to generate matching questions.
We do not send your phone number, display name, or email address to Gemini or any other third party.
We do not sell personal information to anyone.
Test session records (questions, answers, and scores) are kept for up to 7 years from when the test was taken, then automatically deleted. We keep this data for that period to support a student's longer-term exam preparation history.
Account and student profile data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account, or by contacting us (see below).
Student profiles are created and managed by a parent or guardian. Creating a student profile is treated as your consent, as the parent or guardian, for us to collect and process that student's information for the purposes described in this policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without a parent account.
Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Access to production systems is restricted to what's operationally necessary. No system is completely immune to risk, but we take reasonable steps appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do so, contact us at [INSERT CONTACT EMAIL].
If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, contact us at [INSERT CONTACT EMAIL].
This page is provided for transparency and does not constitute legal advice. Given this product handles children's information, we recommend having this policy reviewed by a qualified lawyer before relying on it.
